8 June 2015 – In just 12 days, the 62nd Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity will once again open its doors to deliver a content programme that draws creative inspiration from all walks of life.
The Forum stage will deliver thought-provoking content from the wider creativity industries and allow delegates to delve deeper into the issues, challenges and trends affecting their work by providing a platform for first time speakers, famous names in new guises, big discussions and global viewpoints.
Brand new perspectives from first-time speakers
Blinkink, the production team behind notable Cannes Lions winners including ‘The Bear & The Hare’ will make their debut on stage to celebrate the makers and the importance of harnessing the emotional response through craft, while Drew Elliot, the man that broke the internet with pictures of Kim Kardashian West, will help the audience to do what he achieved with PAPER Magazine.
Global viewpoints
Two of Asia’s most successful independent agencies will join the Forum, with Blue Current discussing killer Japanese creativity and Innored focusing on the Korean mentality. Inspiration from Europe will come from The North Alliance, who will share how collaborations have allowed their small Scandinavian-based agencies to become global players, while perspectives from MENA will come from Yousef Tuqan Tuqan who discusses the modern day Arab.
Big discussions
Inviting discussion with the audience, panel sessions will come from MAC Presents who bring Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, Billboard’s Andrew Hampp and Citi’s Jennifer Breithaupt, as well as all female panels from Flamingo, who debate on engagement with men and women who are 50+, and a panel of female creative leaders led by BBH New York, who will ask how gender has been decisive in their own trajectory.
Famous names in new guises
Kim Kardashian West, entrepreneur, will talk KKH, her mobile gaming experience that pushed the gaming world beyond basic storytelling, while music artist Natalie Imbruglia will broker a live brand deal and Shakespeare will join Rothco as a digital marketing expert.
About the programme, Philip Thomas, CEO OF Cannes Lions said that it was “great to see a new breed of makers, craftsmen and creatives coming together for the most expansive yet encompassing schedule seen in the Festival’s history.”
Today has seen the launch of the 2015 Cannes Lions App, sponsored by PHD. Providing an essential tool for delegates, the app will provide up to the minute information on the content programme, networking opportunities as well as the shortlists and winners lists as they are released. The app can be downloaded for free for IOS, Android and Windows.
