Roads for Life (RFL) delivered certificates to the participants in its most recent ATLS and ATCN training sessions, which were held thanks to the strategic partnership with Fransabank and Bank Audi. During the graduation ceremony, RFL President Zeina Kassem called once again for developing a comprehensive national road safety plan.
Kassem’s speech stressed “the absolute need” for such a plan, which RFL has been demanding for eight years now along with other organizations and associations. Highlighting the “relationship between road safety and the rescue culture”, Kassem lauded “the efforts made by security forces during the holiday season, as they successfully preserved public safety on Lebanon’s roads,” adding: “The state needs to guarantee safety on Lebanon’s roads to curb the tide of daily victims.”
Kassem called on the Ministry of Health to “list the national data issue among its priorities, especially as the establishment of a special center for statistics and assessment is viewed as the first step towards developing the rescue infrastructure in Lebanon.”
The ATLS and ATCN sessions, which were held at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC), included physicians and nurses from the Clemenceau Medical Center, Labib Medical Center, Kesserwan Medical Center, Saint Georges Hospital – Hadath, Bahman Hospital, Mount Lebanon Hospital, Hammoud Hospital, Hôtel-Dieu de France, Al-Rasoul Al-Aazam Hospital, Saint Charles Hospital, Ftouh Governmental Hospital, and the Military Hospital, in addition to the Cleveland Clinic in the United States.
