Beirut, July 02, 2018 – In line with its expansion strategy and continuous efforts to cater for the largest number of people, Uber Lebanon, the leading ride-sharing technology that connects drivers with riders at the push of a button, announced the launching both ‘UberGO’ and ‘UberX’ in Saida. This new expansion aims at providing the residents of Saida with reliable trips inside the capital, as well as back and forth to Beirut, and at affordable prices.
The expansion initiative comes to crown the ongoing efforts of Uber Lebanon since 2014 and its commitment to facilitate transport solutions across the country by providing, reliable and affordable rides, at the push of a button. Through its technology, Uber has provided thousands of flexible economic opportunities for drivers partners using the app, who provide riders with hundreds of thousands of trips in Lebanon every month,
Today, and through ”UberGO”, residents of Saida will be able to commute easily and conveniently, and starting from only USD2.00, which is equivalent to 3,000 L.L. The new daily trips launched by Uber recently, will also allow riders to commute from Beirut to Saida using UberX, at the push of a button and at affordable prices that apply to the trips from Saida to Beirut using UberGO.
Commenting on the announcement, Regional General Manager for Uber in the Middle East, Mr. Anthony Khoury considered that “the expansion of Uber’s reach to the city of Saida is proof of the company’s continued success in providing reliable and affordable transportation at the push of a button”. He further added that “This expansion enables all of Saida’s residents to avail from Uber’s technology at affordable prices, contributing in boosting the economic cycle through flexible and remunerative economic opportunities offered for those interested in driving on the app”.
He also expressed his great enthusiasm for reaching the dynamic city of Saida, considering it a gateway to the South of Lebanon and the principal servicing center in the governorate, with what it hosts from official directorates to old souks, stores, port, banks, educational and industrial institutions, as well as hospitals. He also pointed out the city’s “increasing growth and vital importance as a destination for both Lebanese and tourists, given its prominent history and attractions”.
Khoury reiterated the company’s eagerness to “expand to as many Lebanese regions and villages as possible, who would benefit from the Uber app and its fast technological progress.”
It is worth mentioning that through this expansion, Saida will be joining the list of areas where the Uber app is available in Lebanon, including Beirut and the suburbs of Metn and Keserwan.
To request a ride on “UberGO”:
- Download the app, and launch it
- Register by filling your personal information
- Confirm the destination and request your car
- Choose the desired method of payment: cash, credit card, or splitting the trip fare with friends through the “Split Fare” feature.
- Share your review about your Uber experience through the evaluation system enabled by the app.
