Beirut, 27 September 2018. BASSMA hosted their annual fundraising Gala Dinner at St. Georges Yacht Club. Members and friends of the organization were many to attend and support the efforts of BASSMA in helping underprivileged families during this back to school period with programs from food to clothing, healthcare, education, job matching and house house renovation.
Under the theme “educate and celebrate”, BASSMA celebrated the 95% success rate of its students at BASSMA’s Night School that was funded by TOUCH Lebanon, and also honored three leading figures who played a key role in promoting education and supporting BASSMA’s mission in this field: Former Minister of Education, MP Elias Bou Saab, Minister of Social Affairs, MP Pierre Bou Assi, and Mr. Emre Gurkan, CEO of TOUCH Lebanon.
The event was hosted by Pierrette Katrib and included wonderful performances by Marc Hatem and his Musicians, the siblings countertenor Matteo El Khodr and Riwa El Khodr and last but not least the stunning Aziza. The event also included an auction presented by Chadi Maroun.
BASSMA believes that healthy families lead to healthy societies and by empowering deprived families to reach self-sufficiency we are a step closer to breaking the cycle of poverty.
