Charles and Teresa are about to go on holiday to the seaside.
Charles has taken the shape of a wide-brimmed, unisex Fedora, to protect the head he is to sit on from the sun (and
from dusty clichés). As for Teresa, her inner explorer has led her to go for a central ribbing and cropped edges.
The pair has a lot in common: they are both made of naturally white Japanese straw, and have opted for a simple
cord to wrap around their body: beige and blue, fluorescent yellow and grey, black and white, red and beige or
black and beige.
And more importantly, the mighty duo shares the same flexible spirit: they unfold in a few seconds, can be wrapped
around themselves, slipped under a belt or in a back pocket, without ever creasing or protesting.
Because it is Charles and Teresa’s mission to modernize contemporary millinery, to rethink ancient knowhow with
today’s norms in mind. A hat, yes please, but free of boxes – one that follows its wearer across their day with the
same sense of fluidity. Universal, versatile, the pieces allow to be worn at any age, time of day, gender – becoming
the ally to modern, nomadic lives.
Prize: 450 euros, sold with the Maison Michel all-over logo soft case, black print on cotton poplin. The hats will be
available from November 2018, first exclusively at the rue Cambon boutique, then throughout selling points from
February onwards.
