The initiative focuses on Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), a growing chronic liver disease closely linked to obesity, diabetes, poor nutrition and sedentary lifestyles. Often developing without noticeable symptoms, MASLD can progress to more serious conditions including fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer.
At Experia, visitors will be invited to learn more about their own liver health through five interactive stations.
“Know Your Risk” will include vital signs and measurements such as weight and waist circumference, while at-risk visitors can undergo an ultrasound assessment inside the LAU Mobile Clinic through “See Your Liver.”
At “Meet Your Liver,”gastroenterologists will discuss results, answer questions and provide guidance.
“Fuel Your Liver” will focus on nutrition and body composition, while “Move for Your Liver” will highlight the role of physical activity in maintaining a healthy liver.
The participation will also extend to Experia’s program with the panel discussion “From Prevention to Better Care,”taking place on Saturday, October 10, from 3:00 to 3:45 PM on the Impact Stage at Forum de Beyrouth. Dr. Karl Jallad, Group Chief Medical Officer of LAU Health System, will represent the Health System on the panel.
Through their presence at Experia, LAU Medical Center–Rizk Hospital and LAU Medical Center–Saint John’s Hospital aim to show how medical innovation can translate into better care, while giving visitors practical ways to learn more about prevention and their own health.
