By launching the promo code “CEDAR” for its customers, where 10% of their total ride fare will be donated to the Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI). Careem aims at raising awareness on the importance of the national reforestation and forest conservation within the Lebanese communities.
Commenting on this occasion Ibrahim Manna, Careem’s Managing Director of Emerging Market, said: “We are honoured to have partnered with L’Atelier du Miel on this special National Day and we are also thrilled to support LRI’s mission. Our main goal at Careem is to simplify the lives of people and build an organisation that inspires. Careem strives to support local initiatives in all markets it operates in”.
The Founder, and CEO of L’Atelier du Miel, Marc-Antoine Bou Nassif, stated: “Our core value is to nurture life, which is why we’ve participated in this initiative to plant more Cedar trees in Lebanon. Not only does the Cedar tree represent our rich history, but it also plays a crucial role in Lebanon’s ecosystem and economy. Cedar forests reduce our carbon footprint, encourage biodiversity, and contribute to local production, including that of honey. This Independence Day, we want to move beyond symbols. We want to protect and nourish our environment, save bees, plant trees, and support local production”.
As for LRI’s Executive Director Dr Maya Nehme, she expressed her deepest gratitude to Careem and L’Atelier du Miel’s initiative: “I would like to thank Careem and L’Atelier du Miel for their thoughtful cooperation and for their donations that will help Lebanon’s ecosystem and preserve our Symbolic Trees, the Cedars of Lebanon.”
This initiative is one of Careem’s many initiatives, implemented across all the markets it operates in. By collaborating with private companies and public organizations the company aims to be an active member in the development of the local communities.
