Beirut, Lebanon (November 2014) – ‘The Box Appeal’ campaign launched for the second consecutive year by Radisson Blu Martinez Beirut came to an end. It achieved its goal and collected a total of 1,000 boxes that were distributed to needy families in many Lebanese districts in collaboration with Lebanese Food Bank association.
The charity campaign aimed at helping people in need by providing a list of essential items. During the second edition, Radisson Blu Martinez Beirut and the Lebanese food bank joined forces to fill boxes with a fixed list of daily essential items of dry food. The campaign is simple, it relies on asking people to fill a provided box with a pre-determined ‘shopping list’ of essential dry food needed in every family.
“This year, we aimed higher and doubled the target to become 1,000 boxes instead of 500 and thanks to all the support and help we got from companies and individuals, we didn’t just achieve our target, we exceeded it too. We are proud to succeedin this campaign for the second consecutive year in this small country with very generous and caring citizens. We were very pleased to be able to help in our special way the community we belong to.” said KostaKourotsidis, General Manager at Radisson Blu Martinez Hotel Beirut.
“We thank Mix FM for being our media partners in this year’s campaign. We also would like to thank our sponsors and supporters Mie Dorée catering and Tannourine, as well as Lebanese Food Bank Association who was the campaign’s main contributor.”Added KostaKourotsidis, general manager at Radisson Blu Martinez Hotel Beirut.
