According to the report, the lead in the most searched cars amounts to BMW, Achrafieh in properties section, and hospitality sector in jobs on OLX Lebanon for 2015 and showed that 47.05% of the visitors went to the Arabic platform while 52.95% visited the English one.
Cars section on OLX Lebanon for 2015:
Cars sections on OLX Lebanon showed the favorite cars of the Lebanese for 2015. The most searched cars were BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan. Interestingly, the German and Japanese cars are the absolute favorite ones among the Lebanese. The report showed that the most 5 listed cars brands for sale on OLX Lebanon were as follow: BMW with 23,750 ads, Mercedes-Benz with 20784 ads, Honda with 9,277 ads, Toyota with 6,731 ads, and Nissan with 6,152 ads. These insights are strong indications of the important trends of the Lebanese market, as OLX Lebanon being considered a reliable source for Lebanese who are planning to sell or buy cars in the future.
According to this report’s findings, the Lebanese prefer mostly to buy black cars, followed by white cars, while red cars came in last. As a side note, the top searched keywords are among the most important indicators to understand the user’s interests. Therefore, OLX Lebanon reported that the most searched keywords by users were as follow: X5, BMW, Touareg, followed by Mercedes, FJ, Toyota, Polo, Nissan, and Honda.
Properties section on OLX Lebanon for 2015:
The given figures present an overview on how the Lebanese property market was operating during that period. The report shows that the most searched areas for rent in Lebanon were Achrafieh, Antelias and Ras Beirut, while the most searched areas for buying a property in Lebanon were as follow: Achrafieh, Jal el Dib, and Antelias. On the other hand, Achrafieh also topped the list of areas in terms of number of properties listed for sale, followed by Jal el Dib and Antelias, while the number of properties listed for rent were the most in the following areas: Achrafieh, Ras Beirut, and Antelias.
In addition, the report showed that 3-Bedroom apartments were the most listed for sale on OLX Lebanon, where the number of ads reached 29,436, followed by 2-Bedroom apartments with 13,818 ads, and finally apartments with four bedrooms, which recorded 4,908 ads. On the other hand, the report showed that the apartments with 3 bedrooms were the most listed for rent, with 7,358 ads, followed by 2 bedroom apartments with 4,789 ads, while one-bedroom apartments recorded 1,222 ads.
The report pointed out that the Lebanese search focused on the keyword “furnished” in properties for rent section, and then came “Hamra”, “chalet”, “Beirut” and “Achrafieh.” As in properties for sale section, the most five searched keywords were “Achrafieh”, “Beirut”, “chalet”, “Byblos” and “Bsalim.”
Jobs section on OLX Lebanon 2015:
OLX Lebanon’s report revealed that the most searched sectors by the Lebanese throughout 365 days in 2015 were ranked as follow: hospitality, sales, secretarial, architectural/engineering, and accounting ; while showing that the most sectors with vacancies listed were: hospitality, sales, education, arts/design, and secretarial. It is worth mentioning that the report showed that 27.8% of job seekers on OLX Lebanon hold a Master’s degree (MA) and 17.6% of them bachelor degree (BA), while 54.6% were of other certificates and academic levels.
The three most-searched keywords in the jobs section on OLX Lebanon in 2015 were: “Pharmacy”, “Driver” and “Interior Design.” Users also expressed interest in “part-time jobs.” Additionally, the most searched words included: “data entry”, “graphic design”, “sales”, “keeper,” “mechanical engineer”, and “IT support”.
In this regard, Touqan commented: “The jobs section on OLX Lebanon is a great place for those wishing to get a new job and move forward with their career as the report clearly shows which industries have the most opportunities for Lebanese talents and which skills are required in the market”.
