Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 25 November 2025 – With the opening of THE FLORENTIN by Althoff Collection on December 1, 2025, Frankfurt will become home to a luxurious new urban retreat. The former Villa Kennedy and the extended wings have been carefully developed and transformed into a haven of tranquility, inspiration, and culinary delights with contemporary architecture, clean design, and a sophisticated interplay of light and atmosphere. As part of the Althoff Collection and a new member of Leading Hotels of the World (LHW), THE FLORENTIN belongs to one of the most prestigious associations of independent luxury hotels worldwide.
“THE FLORENTIN represents a new kind of urban hospitality: tranquil, stylish, and imbued with personal warmth. It’s a place that both inspires and slows you down. We look forward to welcoming our first guests in December,” says Boris Messmer, General Manager.
“With THE FLORENTIN, we are redefining the concept of the urban retreat in a contemporary way: architecturally clear, culturally open, and characterized by warm hospitality. Culinary excellence has always been a core element of the Althoff Collection. Our guests expect quality, a distinctive style, and cuisine that evokes emotion. We are continuing this promise in Frankfurt – with a style that is relaxed, cosmopolitan, and executed to perfection,” adds Frank Marrenbach, CEO of Althoff Hotels.
A Hotel briding past and present
THE FLORENTIN’s origins date to 1901. The historic mansion in the Sachsenhausen district – originally built as a large private villa in the heart of the city – now forms the architectural heart of the hotel. Its centerpiece, The Garden Courtyard, is a sheltered haven filled with light and greenery. From here, the character of the hotel unfolds: understated, sophisticated, and contemporary. The villa’s landmarked core has been preserved – yet given a modern interpretation.
Traditional elements such as stone, wood, and stucco have been retained and complemented by contemporary design. This creates an ensemble where history remains palpable, authentic, and vibrant. The villa’s nine Signature Suites embrace this concept. Each is dedicated to an individual whose history has shaped the city of Frankfurt. Furniture, art, books, and materials have been painstakingly curated. No two suites are alike: each tells its own story. Clarity and minimalism continue throughout the hotel. In total, THE FLORENTIN offers 147 rooms and suites. The spaces are tranquil, flooded with light, and imbued with natural colors. Velvet, wood, stone, and soft textiles create an atmosphere that feels instantly familiar. Every detail has been carefully considered: minimalist, clear, and open in expression, creating a sense of retreat that offers freedom and space to breathe.
Culinary Art as a Philosophy – From the Destination Restaurant to the Bar
The hotel’s gastronomy follows a clear principle: contemporary cuisine served with natural elegance. The culinary heart of the experience is the Destination Restaurant under the direction of Executive Chef Niclas Nußbaumer. His unique style combines classic craftsmanship, refined flavors, and a passion for quality products. Meanwhile, The Garden restaurant imbues everyday life with Mediterranean lightness: a thoughtfully curated breakfast every morning. European cuisine with refined local classics at lunchtime. And modern dishes for sharing in the evening. Located adjacent to The Garden Courtyard, The Garden restaurant promises light, air, vibrancy, conviviality. The Florentin Bar extends the experience with iconic cocktails, a signature bar concept, and a cosmopolitan atmosphere. Low lighting, select spirits, and top-quality bar food: a meeting place for Frankfurt locals and international guests alike.
The Spa: Spaces for Balance
As a tranquil counterpoint to the city, The Spa combines modern wellness concepts, effective rituals, and high-quality products – including collaborations with Dr. Barbara Sturm. Five treatment rooms, a light-filled 45-foot indoor pool, saunas, and a spa garden create spaces for rejuvenation. Every treatment follows the principles of mindfulness: individually tailored, scientifically based, and deeply effective.
Exclusive Opening Offer
To celebrate its opening, THE FLORENTIN is offering guests time for special moments: When booking the “Meet THE FLORENTIN” package, guests receive a hotel credit worth €100 and is valid for stays between December 1, 2025, and February 28, 2026.
