Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) demonstrates remote-controlled machines and automation as part of its “Experience 5G” showcase at GITEX Technology Week 2019 in Dubai, UAE, highlighting its commercial hardware and software, including 5G New Radio and Core products.
This remote controlling demo exhibits controlling excavators over mobile networks in real time, offering a realistic experience of what is possible to achieve using 5G technology for industrial use cases.
Remote control of heavy machinery in real time requires much lower latency, greater capacity, and a higher level of accessibility to the mobile network, enabling increased level of safety and efficiency among other key advantages.
