Named for Excellence in Smart Building Solutions at the Construction Innovation Awards 2026, the 60-year-old family group shows that expertise built in Lebanon continues to compete and win across the region
DUBAI, UAE, 2 November 2026 — While Lebanon continues to face one of the most difficult periods in its modern history, one of its family businesses has been recognised among the region’s leaders in smart building technology. Sacotel, the intercom, security and home automation specialist with offices in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iraq, has won Excellence in Smart Building Solutions at the Construction Innovation Awards 2026, held on 29 October at Sofitel Dubai The Palm and organised by Construction Business News Middle East, published by BNC Publishing.
The award comes in a milestone year: the Fernand Hosri Group, of which Sacotel is part, celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2026. Sacotel today serves developers, contractors and property owners across the Middle East and North Africa.
“As a Lebanese family business, we have spent much of our history navigating turbulent times. Resilience means continuing to earn our customers’ trust, whatever the circumstances,” said Joumana Hosri, Board Member of Sacotel. “This award shows that Lebanese companies, built on know-how, hard work and long-term relationships, can stand among the best in the region. It belongs to every Lebanese business that keeps delivering, whatever is happening at home.”
Lebanese know-how, regional reach
Sacotel was built, led and grown by Mrs Eugenie Hosri, today Co-Chair of the Fernand Hosri Group. In 1978 she signed the company’s agreement with Italian intercom manufacturer Urmet, a partnership that, almost five decades later, remains the foundation of Sacotel’s technical knowledge in building communications.
Today, Sacotel is extending that expertise into mobile-connected intercom and home automation, as developers across the region demand smarter, more integrated buildings. The company advises on system selection and handles installation, commissioning and after-sales service, with a particular focus on dependable operation and long-term technical support.
Sixty years, three generations
Mr Fernand Hosri, Founder of the Fernand Hosri Group, and Mrs Eugenie Hosri, Co-Chair of the Group, attended the ceremony alongside the team. The company is now led by the second generation of the family, and the first members of the third generation have recently joined the business.
“Having our Founder and our Co-Chair with us to receive this recognition in our 60th year makes it deeply personal,” Hosri said. “My parents taught us to stand behind what we deliver. That responsibility continues with every generation.”
A guiding principle for 60 years
Since its earliest days, the group has been guided by a single principle, one the family credits for carrying the business through six decades of change:
“The quality of our products is universal. Our pride is in the quality of our service.”
“Customer satisfaction is earned long after installation,” Hosri added. “It is about answering the call, solving the problem and being there when it matters.”
Hosri dedicated the award to Sacotel’s employees, customers and partners across the region, and thanked the organisers for bringing the industry together.
