Dubai, 6 October 2020: A number of Free Fire gamers on YouTube are reaping the benefits of an innovative programme designed by Garena to pursue their passion and gain recognition for their gaming talent beyond the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
The Content Creator programme is an integral part of Garena’s goal and commitment towards developing and promoting the Esports sector in the region along with its existing roster of esports competitions.
The gamers are selected and categorised by Garena into four tiers – Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. This is based on the number of subscribers, average views per month, number of published videos, likes, and shares on their YouTube channels. The programme currently has 26 gamers in the Bronze tier, 21 players in the Silver tier, and 7 players in the Gold tier.
As well as testing themselves against other players, gamers can also connect with their followers by creating useful Free Fire content including reviewing new events, items, and features, posting original and funny content, and conducting tutorials.
Garena also provides valuable support through in-game diamonds to help these gamers create more content covering a diverse and wide range of events, and esports competitions organised by the gamer on its official channels. The players also receive redemption vouchers that can be given away to their subscribers as part of Garena’s efforts to attract more followers on the gamer’s YouTube channel.
Among the gamers to be part of the programme is MafiaLB, who partnered with Garena in September 2019. Mafia said: “Garena is always known to support Arab content makers and since coming on board, I have witnessed this first-hand. Nothing makes me happier than seeing us creators realize our dreams, and for that, I’m forever grateful to Garena.”
“Through this partnership, I can communicate more efficiently to my followers and also report any issues they are facing directly to Garena. By having regular open discussions on areas that could be improved, I have found that Garena is dedicated to addressing the problems and enhancing the game-play experiences.”
Another gamer to raise his profile in the gaming community is Abdou YT. Signed up to the programme five months ago, the gamer believes it has made a significant difference in his development and getting noticed in the gaming community.
He said: “Being on this programme has allowed me to publish better quality content on social media, which has resulted in more followers. In addition, Garena’s support has enabled me to create more tournaments. Not only has my YouTube channel increased in popularity, but it has also paved the way for me to become a commentator of Garena’s competitions. I really believe greater things will be coming my way in the future.”
As a leading global online gamer developer and publisher, Garena regularly hosts international competitions and the programme enables selected gamers to experience an elite event with an all-expenses-paid trip. Last year, four YouTube gamers were invited by Garena to the Free Fire World Series in Brazil where they interacted with the participants and other Free Fire content creators from around the world.
By working closely with the gamers, Garena aims to get a better understanding of what gamers want and how they can improve aspects of Free Fire that will make it more enjoyable and challenging for the MENA region and worldwide.
