OFFICINE PANERAI OPENS DOORS TO ITS LONDON BOUTIQUE London, January 10th 2018 – Officine Panerai has now opened the doors to its new London Boutique on 30 New Bond Street – the brand’s first stand- alone store in the UK, and the second largest in Europe after Panerai’s flagship in Florence. Designed by celebrated architect and designer Patricia Urquiola, the new space will allow customers to explore the world of Panerai over two floors (150 square meters) and have direct access to the in-house watchmaker permanently based at the Boutique. “I am very pleased to announce the opening of our first UK boutique in London. We have been waiting for this moment for a long time and it is a way for us to show our confidence in the future of a market which is really important to us” said Angelo Bonati, Officine Panerai CEO. To celebrate the opening, Officine Panerai teamed up with Sotheby’s to auction off a unique bronze watch, the Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo – 47mm, which generated an incredible total of £75,000. All proceeds will be 01
donated to OnBoard, a charity programme by the Royal Yachting Association. “We are delighted to support the RYA’s OnBoard programme, which provides equal access for young people from all social and economic backgrounds around Britain and more importantly, encourages their personal development through the sport. I’m also excited to say that this is just the beginning of a bigger initiative we are planning with the Royal Yachting Association, starting in 2018 – we will tell you more about it soon” Angelo Bonati continues. The Panerai London Boutique is open from Monday to Saturday, 10am-6pm and Sunday 12-6pm. PANERAI LONDON 30 New Bond Street London, W1S 2RW Tel: +44 (0) 203 05 77 080 Email: [email protected] 02
OFFICINE PANERAI Founded in 1860 in Florence when it consisted of a boutique, a workshop and a watchmaking school, Officine Panerai was for years the supplier of precision instruments to the Italian Navy, in particular equipping the commando frogmen. The projects which were created at that time, including the Luminor and Radiomir watches, continued to be covered by military secrecy for many years, until the purchase of the brand by the Richemont Group in 1997 and the brand’s subsequent launch on the international market. Today, Officine Panerai develops and produces its own movements and watches – combining Italian design and history with Swiss craftsmanship – in its manufacture at Neuchâtel, and these are sold worldwide through an exclusive global network of authorized dealers, and in its own internal boutiques throughout the world. https://www.panerai.com https://www.instagram.com/panerai/ https://www.facebook.com/PaneraiOfficial/ https://twitter.com/PaneraiOfficial @PaneraiOfficial 03
