Beirut, 19 December 2015: Beirut Christmas Village, the charitable Christmas event kicked off today at 3 PM with an impressive 100 Santa Claus Parade trotting down Fahry Bey Street in Beirut Souks.
The 100 Santa Claus Parade was the first-ever to be held in Lebanon and a unique initiative by Gata to celebrate Christmas and entertain the Lebanese during the festive season. It included 100 musicians and entertainers all wearing the Santa Claus outfit and marching between the crowds, spreading the joyful Christmas vibes.
As for Beirut Christmas Village, the event will include more than 50 participants showcasing their Christmas products, handcrafts, and trendy ideas for Christmas presents such as outfits, fashion accessories, jewelry, handbags, home accessories, candies and sweets, and toys for the little ones. The village will also have an entertaining program in the evening with troupes touring the place to cheer visitors in addition to special activities for the kids.
Mrs. Sandra Ghattas, Managing Director of Gata Events & Promotions confirmed that “the purpose of this village is to support bassma the Lebanese NGO through placing donation boxes in every
tent. The event also aims to share the joy of the festive season with the Lebanese people in down town Beirut, a place that unites all the Lebanese from every religion and region. Beirut Christmas Village will create a wonderful Christmas ambiance with more than 80,000 expected visitors including Lebanese, tourists and expatriates coming together to celebrate as one.”
Beirut Christmas Village welcomes visitors, free-of-charge, from the 19th till the 29th of December 2015 from 12 noon till 10 PM on Saturdays and Sundays; from 4 PM to 10 PM on week days; and from 12 noon till 4 PM on December 24th, 2015.
