Facing Saint Charbel Monastery in Hjoula, 1000M brings together heritage, nature, celebration and wellbeing in a unique multipurpose space
LEBANON – September 2026 – Liwan Village, a mountain sanctuary located in the heart of Hjoula and facing Saint Charbel Monastery, announces the launch of 1000M, a new multipurpose event venue conceived as a celebration of Lebanon’s heritage, landscape and enduring connection to the land.
More than an event space, 1000M is the latest addition to Liwan Village, a destination developed around a simple philosophy: respect the mountain and build organically within it. The project breathes new life into an ancient village, once home to generations who lived among its stone and mountains. Rather than recreating what once was, 1000M preserves the beauty and soul of what was already there, allowing the original stone, landscape and traces of the past to remain at the heart of the place today.
At 1000M, nothing has been unnecessarily added and everything possible has been repurposed. Existing materials and architectural elements have been given new life, maintaining the character of the site while creating a space that can evolve according to each occasion. The approach reflects Liwan Village’s commitment to its environment, its mountain setting and, importantly, the peaceful character of the Saint Charbel neighborhood.
Designed as a versatile indoor and outdoor venue, 1000M can accommodate more than 200 guests indoors and more than 400 outdoors, with dedicated musical stages in both spaces. Its flexible configuration allows it to host weddings and private celebrations, corporate gatherings, trainings, workshops, cultural events, performances and intimate or large-scale experiences.
Its location also gives 1000M a particular dimension for wellness and wellbeing. Surrounded by nature and overlooking a landscape deeply associated with peace and spirituality, the venue offers a natural setting for retreats, meditation, yoga, wellness programs, personal development workshops and experiences centered on reconnecting with oneself and with nature.
“1000M was never about imposing something new on the mountain. It was about listening to what was already here and giving it another life. We wanted to respect the land, the history of the village and our surroundings, while creating a place where people can come together and create new memories. The destination also includes Gali and Leo, private villas available for rent, with additional villas planned as Liwan Village continues to grow organically. Looking ahead, Liwan Village will continue to expand its offering with a series of future projects, including tennis and football courts as well as restaurant concepts.
