Nadim Kassar: Social responsibility is a duty and the rescue culture is one of our priorities
Kassem: Security challenges call for readiness and a new program destined to the public is coming soon
Vice-Chairman of the Association of Banks in Lebanon and Chairman of the Board/General Manager of BLC Bank Nadim Kassar handed over certificates to members of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) motorcycle police who completed the First Responder rescue session. During the ceremony held at the ISF Training Institute in Aramoun, Kassar asserted that “social responsibility has become a duty due to the alarming increase in the number of traffic accidents in Lebanon and daily civilian victims in dire need of being rescued during the ‘Golden Hour’. This rescue culture should be a priority, hence our commitment since 2012 with the ISF and Roads for Life (RFL) in order to bolster the skills of motorcycle police and traffic units all over Lebanon in terms of organizing an accident scene and providing first aid before the rescuers’ arrival.”
Likewise, RFL President Zeina Kassar Kassem stressed that “the latest bloody events leading to the martyrdom of ISF and Lebanese Army personnel calls upon us to support all efforts that promote the rescue culture in our country. Amidst the current instability in Lebanon, we have to provide sustainable and consolidated rescue programs for military personnel and civilians alike, which would give a chance to anyone who needs it all over the country.”
Moreover, Kassem went on to say, “we will spare no effort to spread the rescue sessions we are already providing to Lebanese Red Cross EMS volunteers as well as ISF motorcycle and traffic police. We are pleased to announce that we will soon be launching Stop the Bleed, a new rescue program destined to untrained civilians, which will help promote people’s rescue skills. This program, jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, will be announced next month.”
It is worth mentioning that RFL, thanks to its strategic partnership with BLC Bank, has also completed another rescue session for ISF motorcycle policemen from various regions at the ISF Training Institute in Aramoun, in addition to another session for Lebanese Red Cross EMS volunteers from the sectors of Spears, Mreijeh, Cornet Chehwan, Jbeil, Falougha, Kfardebian, Jeb Jennine, Rashaya, Saïda, Jezzine, Tripoli, Batroun, Koura, Zgharta, Qobayyat, Harrar, and Damour.
