Beirut – Lebanon, September 2019: CHANCE (CHildren AgaiNst CancEr) association covering since 2002 the treatment of children with cancer and blood disorders and supporting their fight against cancer with 80% cure rates, organized its annual fundraising event at the Kempinski Summerland Hotel and Resort, on September 24, 2019.
The Masters of Ceremony Mohammad Kaiss and Bruna Tohme welcomed the guests and introduced Dr. Roula Farah, President of CHANCE Association who highlighted the mission, achievements and successes. Cancer Survivors joined Dr. Farah on stage and told their stories which moved the crowd. A movie showing the 13 year old boy Avedis cured after struggling with his difficult leukemia, and finding funds for his bone transplant thanks to the campaign supporters. Another highlight was presenting the LAU “Never Give Up” team who climbed Peak Lenin to raise awareness and deliver a message of hope and encouragement to children with cancer. Pascale, a cancer survivor realized her dream by playing a role in the movie directed by Philippe Aractingi after being cured from her tumor. Dr. Farah ended her speech with a mention on the National Yellow Ribbon School campaign aiming at raising awareness amongst parents on early warning signs of childhood cancer in 1,200 public schools and more than 300 private schools across Lebanon with the collaboration of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
During her speech she thanked the sponsors and contributors that joined hands with CHANCE in its annual fundraising dinner, especially its annual partner and platinum sponsor BSL BANK and its gold sponsor Antoine Walid Salamoun.
The evening was full of breathtaking dance shows presented by Dance Star Academy, violin performance by Vanessa Pierre Nassar, piano played by Guilnar Majdalany and great music by the professional DJ Moun.
Finally the evening was beautifully ended by an International Drummer coming straight from the US named BASH who with his energy has made everybody dance on his drum beats.
