Beirut, October 16 – Italia Film – the largest local and international independent films buyer and distributor in the Middle East – organized in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) the premiere screening of “Human Flow” on Monday October 16 at 7:30pm in one of CinemaCity movie theatres in Beirut Souks, in the presence of Philippe Lazzarini, Deputy UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon.
The Chinese international filmmaker Ai Weiwei invested his time, effort and money traveling to 23 countries from which their inhabitants forcibly escaped looking for food and security. In 140 minutes, this movie captures the staggering and suffering scale of refugees around the world, some of whom survived from drowning, tackling the tension caused by many incursions.
The director extracted the information of this documentary by interviewing many officials of international organizations as well as some foreign and Arab politicians. Signed by a Chinese director, “Human Flow” is movie that outlines the agony of 65 million refugees in the world.
