Byblos Bank Headquarters, 4 March 2016: Byblos Bank and the suppliers of its Commercial Banking division’s end-year gifts donated 9,000 USD in cheques to four non-governmental organizations during a ceremony held at Byblos Bank Headquarters in Ashrafieh. As part of its yearly social initiatives, the Bank’s Commercial Banking department asked the suppliers of its end-year gifts for 2015 to donate a share of their profits, and it added an equal share to distribute the total amount to four designated NGOs for this year: Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon, Red Cross (Jal el Dib), Caritas (Ashrafieh), and Anta Akhi. Mr. Fadi Nassar, Deputy General Manager and Head of Group Commercial Banking, said: “Byblos Bank believes that collective actions aimed at supporting humanitarian organizations have a positive impact on our society.” He added: “This tripartite partnership, which is working for the fourth year in a row, is an essential part of our work ethics, and we hope it will become a common practice in the business world.” The suppliers participating in Byblos Bank’s initiative for this year are: Vintage Wine Cellar, Les Caves de Taillevent, The Malt Gallery, Vincenti & Sons, and Patchi. Byblos Bank, keen on playing an active role in backing civil society organizations, is regularly taking innovative initiatives in support of social, educational, cultural and environmental causes.
