Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bassil underlined the pivotal role played by LAU in the life of the Lebanese. He said: “As a prestigious academic institution and one of the best educational institutions in Lebanon and the region, we cannot but express our deep gratitude to LAU’s achievements, which have been key to the success of many leaders and decision-makers in the social, economic and other fields.”
He added: “LAU has contributed significantly to making Lebanon what it is today: a beacon of education in the Middle East and a hub of talent and human capital. While we take pride in these achievements, we spare no efforts to preserve them; even strengthen them for the good of our society and country. I am fully confident that the Board’s meetings will achieve their strategic objectives, including increasing the number of academic disciplines, developing the physical and technological infrastructures, strengthening commitment to social responsibility, and securing more resources for developmental projects and scholarships.”
