Bank of Beirut, March 2nd, 2016 – A special Bank of Beirut delegation visited the Ghanaian capital to oversee the operations of the Bank’s newly-opened Representative Office in Accra and to sponsor the Lebanese American University Gala Dinner – Ghana Chapter. The visit was also an occasion to strengthen the bonds with the Lebanese diaspora in Ghana and West Africa and to boost the long-standing partnership with the University.
The dinner was held in the presence of the Ambassador of Lebanon to Ghana, H.E. Ali Halabi, including a number of celebrities, diplomats, LAU President, Lebanese expatriates, members of the Alumni Chapter in Ghana and Bank of Beirut Executive Officers.
On behalf of Chairman-CEO, Dr. Salim G. Sfeir, Mr. Georges Aouad, Head of Retail and Branch Division of Bank of Beirut, confirmed the Bank’s cross-border partnership with LAU and its unwavering commitment in supporting its community. Addressing the Lebanese diaspora, Aouad expressed the Bank’s pride in their achievements: “You are key drive behind our presence in Ghana”, he said. “Our commitment to you is to establish a presence wherever you are. We will invariably remain by your side and Bank of Beirut will continue to act as the bridge that bonds you with your homeland through our Representative Office in Accra.”
Bank of Beirut has also hosted a luncheon that included Lebanese businessmen and a number of prominent figures from both the business and social circles in Ghana in the presence of Executive officers from the Bank’s Representative Offices in both Nigeria and Ghana, whose dedicated efforts are to serve the Lebanese community established in West Africa.
