Amchit, Monday 4th of September, 2023
As part of its commitment to responsible business practices, IPT will launch a series of innovative projects in 2023. Its first project of the year is a broad awareness campaign prepared by the IPT Energy Center, the research and scientific arm of IPT, on the best smart driving behaviors and providing drivers with tips and advice on caring for and maintaining their cars and ensuring a safe driving experience on the roads. For this campaign, we have chosen the slogan “Be a smart driver.”
The campaign was inaugurated on September 4,2023 at the IPT headquarters in Amchit, under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Tourism, Eng. Walid Nassar, President of the IPT Energy Center, Dr. Tony Issa, Engineer Rana Hayek, in addition to the presence of IPT managers and the media representatives.
Rana Hayek, a specialist in automotive mechanics and science, has been chosen to represent the “Smart Driver” campaign. Rana is very active on social media and is known for her passion for cars. She presents a positive image of women who are passionate about cars. Most of her social media videos provide advice and instructions to drivers by showing her personally carrying out maintenance in front of the camera.
The “Smart driver” campaign, launched by the IPT Energy Center, consists of a series of short instructional videos presented by Rana Hayek. Each video is one minute long and covers a title or topic related to the campaign theme, such as how to choose a car before buying it, how to choose a good maintenance center, tips about engine oil quality, environmentally friendly driving, electric cars, self-service petrol filling, and others.
These videos will be published on various TVs simultaneously before the evening news and for a period of three months, and on the social media platforms of both Rana and IPT.
IPT will launch an online platform called the “smart driving clinic” on its website, which will allow drivers to ask questions remotely and receive the necessary advice and guidance.
VDL radio will host Engineer Rana Hayek for several monthly live shows, in which she will answer the questions of listeners and give advice live on air.
In addition to the activities mentioned above, the “Smart driver” campaign will also include a series of activities on a number of IPT stations network throughout Lebanon, where engineer Rana Hayek, accompanied by IPT technicians, will be present on the ground to provide drivers with free car checks and to provide them with printed brochures that contain a summary of the most important tips and advice related to the topic of the campaign.
