“Chaque homme possède trois caractères: celui qu’il montre, celui qu’il a, celui qu’il croit avoir” Alphonse Karr, Voyage autour de mon jardin
For the Spring/Summer 2024 collection, Pierre-Louis Mascia draws inspiration from the pages of the book Voyage autour de mon jardin by Alphonse Karr, a reflection on the meaning of life and beauty that surround us.
The theme of Nature once again takes center stage in a collection that celebrates the infinite beauty of Creation, in which the French designer wants to particularly emphasize its vulnerability and the delicate balance given by its interaction with Man.
The season’s wardrobe, crossed by a fil rouge of vibrant prints and colors, reflects influences and suggestions of great beauty ; an invitation to a kinder and more sustainable vision of our world, in a kaleidoscope of styles that sees shorts inspired by the world of uniforms, T-shirts, sweaters that evoke the textures of Moroccan carpets, undershirts and printed denim garments characterized by sophisticated graphic motifs and floral elements, which also return center stage in the fourth edition of the Memories capsule, declined in shirts and shorts in organic silk.
The collection’s mood and approach to color, intrinsically linked to the natural world, draws inspiration and impetus from the manifesto of the Bloomsbury Group – the circle of artists created by Virgina Woolf in the early twentieth century – reconnecting with the themes addressed in the book Voyage autour de mon jardin by Alphonse Karr.
The relationship with nature is all-encompassing, not only expressed in the riot of colors and lights typical of the summer season, but also identified in the neutral tones of black and white, which notably characterize the NOCTURNES capsule, a series of evening garments with a sophisticated touch in which Pierre-Louis Mascia’s creativity pays homage to the 1920s and 1930s.
