For our fifth consecutive year, we are pleased and proud to announce that the Scholarship Program for 2019/2020 is open for submission! After awarding scholarships of a total value of 160,000 USD to Layal Chacar, Carine Nawbar, Ala Tannir, Romy Bechara, Ghida Kanaan, Riad Chehabeddine, Rawad Baaklini, Micheline Nahra, Aya Iskandarani and Rachel Antoun in previous years, we are committed to continuing our mission to empower Lebanese product designers by offering full and partial scholarships every year and by continuously supporting previously awarded students. House of Today aims to provide design students with opportunities that will allow them to develop their dreams and passions, promoting excellence, supporting their education and heightening the level of design in Lebanon. Faced with a number of hurdles, students in Lebanon find it challenging to pursue a credible career in design. Students must deal with high costs, weak networks, lack of professional guidance and limited career opportunities making it a very unfavorable career choice. The Scholarship Program enables HoT to nurture the young talent from the very beginning by assisting the most promising students and those whose future growth would otherwise be limited by financial constraints, and to deliver a platform from which they can develop to their full potential. The House of Today Scholarship Program is awarded annually to up to three Lebanese students, each of whom must display an exceptional talent in design and whose development as a designer would most benefit from a graduate or postgraduate study at a highly-rated product design university in Lebanon or abroad.
