P4 Soccer Academy (P4SA), an elite soccer academy founded by former FC Barcelona players and coaches, has officially launched in Dubai, marking a significant step in its international expansion and entry into the Middle East.
The Academy was founded in 2023 by brothers Albert and Carlos Portas, former professional footballers at La Masia, and Isaac Garcia, former La Masia Coach. P4SA was created with the goal of introducing a more structured and personalised approach to youth football development.
P4SA operates around a unique training model, influenced by the founder’s time at FC Barcelona’s renowned Academy La Masia, focusing on game-based learning, decision-making and consistent player progression, both physically and mentally.
The Academy recently completed its soft launch phase in Dubai, at Athletic BCN Dubai, through a series of open tryouts led by UEFA-certified coaches and co-founder Carlos Portas. The sessions attracted more than 100 players across age groups ranging from U5 – U14, reflecting the growing demand for structured youth football development in the region.
P4SA enters the Dubai market at a time when youth football participation across the GCC continues to grow rapidly, driven by increased investment in grassroots sport, school programs, private academies and regional & international competitions.
Speaking on the launch, Carlos Portas, Co-founder of P4SA and CEO of P4SA Dubai, said the Academy’s objective is to bring Spanish discipline and expertise to Dubai.
“Our focus during the initial soft opening phase is to establish strong training standards, understand the level of players locally, and build the right, supportive environment before expanding further,” he said. “The goal is to support young players throughout their development journey and create a pathway for those who aspire to play at a professional level.”
Following the completion of its soft launch phase, P4SA is expected to announce further details regarding its long-term development plans, academy structure, partnerships and the permanent base of operations in Dubai.
