Dubai, 1 December 2020: Sbornaya_CHR from Russia, was crowned champions of the EMEA Series Grand Finals as the Free Fire Continental Series (FFCS) came to an end, which was watched by more than nine millions people worldwide.
The competition, Free Fire’s flagship international tournament, saw three separate regional events take place – EMEA, the Americas and Asia Series’ with the best Free Fire teams vying for glory.
In the EMEA Series, which had teams from Europe, Russia and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Sbornaya_CHR came out on top with 156 points. SILENCE (124) and STAYAWAY (109) also from Russia, finished second and third respectively.
As well as claiming the trophy, Sbornaya_CHR also won USD $80,000 of the overall $300,000 grand prize that was available in the Series.
INS, SHIFT.FF and Over Fear entered the international competition as three MENA representatives and were among the 12 teams to battle over six rounds across three maps: Bermuda, Purgatory, and Kalahari.
Although they were unable to emerge champions, SHIFT.FF, INS and Over Fear can take encouragement from a solid showing, finishing fourth, fifth and ninth places respectively.
SHIFT.FF racked up 108 points and 24 kills, INS claimed 105 points and 20 kills, and Over Fear took 79 points and 11 kills.
Their performances underlined the depth of talent in the MENA region with Free Fire played by thousands of peoples in different countries.
Free Fire fans were able to watch all the action with the three Series’ streamed live on Garena’s official social media platforms, generating more than 113 millions viewers worldwide.
