STARZ PLAY ARABIA, ESPN AND BT SPORT TO BROADCAST V10 R-LEAGUE TOP ESPORTS RACING TEAMS BATTLE FOR USD130,000 PRIZE
Abu Dhabi Motorsport Management (ADMM) and Gfinity, a world leading esports and gaming solutions provider, have announced distribution agreements for ADMM’s new virtual racing competition – the V10 R-League – with three of the world’s leading broadcasters.
This announcement follows the earlier competition team reveal, with the inaugural season of the V10 R-League pitting BMW Motorsport SIM Racing Team, Porsche24 Redline, Red Bull Racing Esports, Williams Esports, Team Fordzilla, YAS HEAT, BWT Racing Point Esports and JEASA Team Suzuki in a unique racing format of head to head racing to be brought to life, shining a light on a unique teams championship.
The V10 R-League will be one of the most widely syndicated esports competitions ever, with broadcast coverage reaching over 75 countries worldwide. The V10 R-League is the first championship in the Global Racing Series partnership between ADMM and Gfinity. The Global Racing Series is a long term, multi-championship initiative designed to create competitions that redefine racing through unique formats that are only possible in the virtual world.
Starz Play have signed a multi-year agreement for exclusive rights in the MENA region.
BT Sport have secured access to the rights in the UK and Ireland while ESPN will broadcast the V10 R-League for Seasons 1 and 2 in the US, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean and Oceania, as well as across team and talent channels in a unique broadcast and digital hybrid distribution plan.
Fans in the MENA region will be able to watch coverage of the Season 1 opener via Starz Play’s On Demand platform from Monday September 7.
BMW Motorsport SIM Racing Team and Porsche24 Redline recently joined Red Bull Racing Esports, Williams Esports, Team Fordzilla, YAS HEAT, BWT Racing Point Esports and JEASA Team Suzuki to complete the line-up of teams going head-to-head in the uniquely formatted V10 R-League.
HOSTS CONFIRMED FOR V10 R-LEAGUE
The hosts of the V10 R-League broadcasts have been confirmed as Nicolas Hamilton, Rachel Stringer and Ben Daly, for the inaugural series. Each host brings a wealth of experience in motorsport, acting as a valuable asset to shape the League.
Nicolas, brother to Lewis Hamilton, has racing knowledge that comes from his first highly competitive outing in the Renault Clio Cup series in 2011, to becoming a points-finisher in the British Touring Car Championship this year.
Second to join the host line-up is sports presenter Rachel Stringer. Rachel has covered a range of motorsport disciplines in her presenting career as well as major sporting competitions from Wimbledon to the Premier League. In recent years she has also hosted some major global esports events and competitions.
Completing the roster is YouTube star Ben Daly, also known as Tiametmarduk. Ben is one of the most popular voices in sim racing, with an audience of 500k+ on YouTube. In 2011, Ben ‘Tiametmarduk’ Daly embarked on his journey as a YouTuber and now, over 230 million views later, Ben is among the most watched sim racing content creators in the world.
