The new 300-piece limited-edition Endurance Pro IRONMAN® 2024 70.3 World Championship Taupō is Breitling’s ultralight sports watch for the world’s finest athletes, inspired by those racing at the VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship triathlon in Taupō, New Zealand.
How do you forge ahead when you are putting everything you’ve got to the test? How do you persevere when the race pushes you to the edge of your limits? The new Endurance Pro IRONMAN® Taupō is the toughest tool you can add to your fitness arsenal to stay on track and break beyond mere ambition into the realm of champions.
The world-famous IRONMAN® triathlon is known for being a true test of mind and body. Months if not years are spent dedicated to training before the race even begins. For 140 years, Swiss luxury watchmaker Breitling has been making watches as resilient as the individuals who wear them. Breitling has been the official luxury watch partner of IRONMAN since 2021.
The Endurance Pro IRONMAN will coincide with the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship triathlon taking place in Taupō, New Zealand, with both women’s and men’s races happening across two days on December 14 & 15, 2024. The ultimate race venue for endurance athletes, Taupō will host the top professional and age-group triathletes from all around the world. The race will include a 1.2-mile (1.9 km) swim in one of the world’s largest freshwater lakes, a 56-mile (90 km) bike course through the picturesque rural landscape of New Zealand’s North Island, and a 13.1-mile (21.1 km) run course with stunning lakefront views.
Breitling CEO Georges Kern says, “The spirit of the IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon is strength, ambition, and endurance, something we at Breitling share as we have been producing robust watches that test limits, break barriers, and inspire those who wear them for 140 years.”
BUILT TOUGH AND DESIGNED FOR STRENGTH
For this momentous race, Breitling is introducing a limited-edition Endurance Pro IRONMAN with a 44-mm case made of ultra-lightweight Breitlight® material, a robust material 3.3 times lighter than titanium and 5.8 times lighter than stainless steel that’s also thermally stable (with a touch that’s warmer than metal) while being scratch-resistant, nonmagnetic, and hypoallergenic. The case is water resistant to 10 bar.
Powered by the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 82, a SuperQuartz movement with a warranty of two years, this Endurance Pro IRONMAN Taupō chronograph can measure time down to 1/10th of a second. Hands and indexes coated in luminescent Super-LumiNova® allow for easy reading, even in low light. The black bidirectional bezel houses a solar compass, while the red inner bezel contains a scale for measuring pulse rates.
The dial features the race’s unique IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship Taupō logo featured at 6 o’clock, inspired by the Māori concept of tuituia—the spirit of unity—that brings athletes together. The Endurance Pro IRONMAN Taupō is rounded out with a red IRONMAN-branded rubber strap, secured with a Breitlight double tang-type buckle, complementing the color of the crown and Taupō race logo at 6 o’clock.
“It’s the watch that helps you to meet your fitness goals but that also makes you want to keep striving and pushing the limits of your own strength and ambition,” Kern adds.
The limited-edition Endurance Pro IRONMAN 2024 70.3 World Championship Taupō is available only at Breitling.com and select Breitling boutiques and retailers.

ABOUT THE IRONMAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Since its inception in 1978 on the Island of O‘ahu, the IRONMAN World Championship® triathlon has etched its name in history through stellar performances, inspirational participants, and emotional memories. In 1981, the race moved from the tranquil shores of Waikīkī to the barren lava fields of Kona on the Island of Hawai‘i. The most iconic one-day sporting event in the world is the culmination of 40 global IRONMAN events with over 94,000 athletes around the world striving for one of the coveted qualifying slots. The 2021 edition of the event took place in St. George, Utah, in May 2022, making St. George the first location to host the event outside of Hawai‘i since its origins in 1978. After a two-year hiatus from Hawai‘i due to COVID-19, the race returned to Kailua-Kona in 2022 and for the first time took place as a two-day event. The 2023 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship race continued with the two-day format but with two different host locations and dates (Nice, France, in September and Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i, in October) to allow for a dedicated world championship race for women and dedicated world championship race for men. The cumulative event hosted over 4,000 athletes embarking on a 140.6-mile journey that presents the ultimate test of body, mind, and spirit to earn the title of IRONMAN World Champion. In 2024, the women will rotate to Nice, France, while the men will return to Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i, for their respective world championship host locations.
