Beirut – March 21, 2018: touch, the leading mobile telecommunications and data operator in Lebanon, managed by Zain Group, celebrated Mother’s Day by hosting a luncheon honoring media, customers and touch mothers. The invitation was extended to mothers working at the Ministry of Telecommunications, with the occasion aimed at recognizing the accomplishments of each working mother and their contributions to society at large.
The event took place on Friday, March 16 at the Seray restaurant in Downtown, under the patronage and in the presence of Minister of Telecommunications, Jamal Jarrah and his spouse.
The Minister of Telecommunications Jamal Jarrah, thanked touch for this special ceremony and said, “A mother means so much in our lives, as she is not only a mother but also a wife and a friend representing half of the society.” He added, “I congratulate touch on its social responsibility in effectively playing its role in the community. Its relationship with the community is not only through providing the best services, but also by activating communication with different segments of society and serving it in every way possible.”
Commenting on the occasion, Emre Gurkan Chief Executive Officer of touch said, “Mother’s Day conjures up associations of absolute love, devotion, strength, and sacrifice. We are proud to be able to celebrate the phenomenal perseverance of mother in juggling important responsibilities. This year we introduced our Mother’s Day campaign under the slogan “#NaturallyConnected”, because not all connections need technology, some are formed naturally like the connection between mother and child.”
This year touch organized several activities to mark Mother’s Day and engage with the community. The company ran competitions on its social media channels and select radio stations, highlighting the natural connection of a mother to her children or the mother’s sixth sense, where both mothers and the kids will win prizes. In parallel, touch partnered with OTV and produced an emotional episode entitled “A Mother’s touch” on a woman’s quest to become a mother that will be broadcasted on March 21st.
