Beirut April 25, 2014: Radisson Blu Martinez Beirut wins 3 medals in culinarycompetitions within Horeca show 2014, the exceptional hospitality and food event held at BIEL, Beirut from April 3 till April 9 in its 21st edition, featuring hotels, catering and food products, presentations of hospitality services, demos by seasoned Lebanese and international chefs and workshops. A jury of international chefs was present to choose the winners in various competitions such as live cooking, junior chefs, burgers, Lebanese dishes…
This year, the Chefs at Radisson Blu Martinez participated in Horeca culinary competitions. Executive chef Palash Gomez, Chef Ihab Sharaf and Chef Mohamad Taha competed in three different culinary competitions.
Chef Palash showcased a piece of art named ‘Animal Picnic’ as the open showpiece in the creative display category and wins second place, receiving a first silver medal. Chef Palash used 40 kg of flour, salt and water, he painted the whole with gelatin coffee and water. It was carved with precision and craftsmanship, it took the Chef 2 weeks of work as the dough needed to dry in order to move to the next stage of preparation.
In the live seafood dish competition, Chef Mohamad Taha won the bronze medal, while considering the high level of competition that made it hard for the jury members to decide between the participants. As for the gold medal, it was a reward for Chef Ihab Sharaf who was a real expert in the Live Meat dish competition.
