Beirut, 12 September 2018 (United Nations Information Centre)— In collaboration with the UN Information Centre in Beirut (UNIC Beirut), Junior Chamber International (JCI), a non-profit organization, is organizing clean-up campaigns on Saturday 15 September in 11 different locations in Lebanon on the occasion of World Clean Up Day.
The campaigns start at 10:00 AM and end at 02:00PM. It is worth mentioning that this is part of a global campaign whereby similar events are happening in 120 countries around the world uniting over than 380 million volunteers.
The Lebanese areas to be cleaned are the following:
In the North: Tripoli, Zgharta (2 locations), Dar Beechtar, and Kfaraabida
In Mount Lebanon: Maameltein, Al Damour, Rweiset Al Ballout,
In Beirut: Ramlet Al Bayda
In the South: Al Hlelyeh
Keserwan Highway will be cleaned the morning of September 16.
The World Clean Up Day is a voluntary day where several public areas are chosen to be cleaned by volunteers. This event aims at spreading awareness about the importance of maintaining a safe, healthy and sustainable environment, and of reusing and recycling our trash.
