Celebrations of 4th International Day of Yoga in Lebanon

Embassy of India organized public events to celebrate International Day of Yoga 2018, with cooperation and support of authorities concerned in the Government of the Republic of Lebanon; Association for Development of Lebanese Indian Relations [ADLIR]; Solidere; Le Yacht Club; American University of Beirut(AUB) and a number of yoga organizations and exponents.
The first event was held on Monday 18 June at Green Oval, AUB campus, which was a curtain raiser event.
The second and the main event was held on Wednesday 20 June in front of Le Yacht Club, Zaitunay Bay.
The program of the above mentioned events included remarks by dignitaries demonstration by yoga experts, with participation of the attendees; performances of Indian dances; and an exhibition entitled “Yoga for Health & Global Harmony” by Benoy K. Behl.
The main event on 20 June saw gracious presence of Mr Fadi Fawaz Adviser representing Prime Minister designate HE Saad Hariri; Dr Elias Shaaban representing HE Minister of Agriculture Ghazi Zeaiter; Col. Santosh Kumar Tripathi Commanding Officer of Indian Battalion [5 Assam Infantry Battalion Group: INDBATT-XIX] and other officials of Indian battalion.
The event also included an India inspired Graphic Design exhibition, entitled ‘Indimage’, by the students of Modern University of Business & Science (MUBS).
Indian Battalion in UNIFIL celebrated the 4th International Day of Yoga in south Lebanon at its Headquarters on Thursday 21 June. HE Ambassador of India Sanjiv Arora joined the celebration as the chief guest.
