Beirut, 31 May 2018 (United Nations Information Centre) — Under the patronage and in the presence of Minister of Culture Ghattas Khoury, Minister of Tourism Avedis Guidanian, and Minister of Environment Tarek Al-Khatib, “Believe in Lebanon” NGO, represented by founder Colette Haddad, opens two art exhibitions on Friday 8 June 2018, 7 PM, at the ATCL Club, Kaslik. The opening will be attended by a crowd of politicians, diplomats, media professionals, athletes and other interested parties.
The two exhibitions are organized in cooperation with the United Nations Information Centre in Beirut (UNIC Beirut), ATCL Club and Octopus Team, on the occasion of World Environment Day and World Oceans Day, observed annually on 6 and 8 June respectively. The exhibition in ATCL Club lasts until June 10, while the underwater exhibition will remain until the end of the summer, i.e. the diving season.
The exhibitions will include paintings, sculptures, mosaics and various artworks by 85 different artists, some of which will be displayed in the Club hall, while 150 will be exhibited underwater, with the purpose of breaking a new Guinness Record for the Greatest Under-Water Gallery. The record-winning figure so far was by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center in 2014 in Dubai, which featured 100 photos under water.
Collette Haddad had previously entered the Guinness Book of Records in 2015, for “The Largest Underwater Painting”
