| Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at the leading pan-Arab news channel This year’s program includes a new focus on the digital skills needed in an increasingly technology-driven news industry Abu Dhabi, Tuesday 16 July 2019: Sky News Arabia are giving budding journalists, producers and directors the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills at the organization, as part of their annual graduate internship program. The program which is aimed at enthusiastic and ambitious Arabic-speaking graduates or students who wish to embark on a career in media, has welcomed 15 applicants. The program kicks off on the 21st of July 2019 and will last for 11 weeks. For three weeks, the candidates will build their knowledge in the classroom while the remaining eight weeks will see them put their skills into daily practice. This year, the program will include a new focus on creating distinctive media content with an emphasis on the digital skills needed in an increasingly technology-driven news industry and comes during an exciting period at Sky News Arabia, with the recent announcement of the channel’s biggest enhancement since its 2012 launch. Located in Abu Dhabi, the 15 selected candidates will gain vital skills and experience as well as receive professional training at the state-of-the-art broadcast studios through practical and theory-based training. As well as learning all the skills necessary to work at Sky News Arabia’s multimedia newsrooms, candidates will also learn the basics of crafting messages for TV including identifying what makes a good story and how to tell it in a simple and informative way. Additionally, they will network and understand how a busy newsroom environment works. |
