Dubai (UAE) / Saint-Imier (Switzerland), 25 March 2017 – The Longines Dubai Schema Classic, one of the most important races of the Dubai World Cup took place on Saturday and was won by Jack Hobbs ridden by William Buick. The Swiss watch brand had the pleasure to offer a watch to the winning owner, trainer and jockey. The representatives of Arrogate, the winner of the Dubai World Cup and the 2016 Longines World’s Best Racehorse, also received Longines watches to honour this performance. The same day, the winged hourglass brand awarded the Longines Prize for Elegance to Diana Ganeva, nominated as the most elegant lady of the racecourse
As Official Timekeeper of all events organized by the Meydan Group, Longines is proud to have been timing the nine races of the Dubai World Cup, held on 25 March, at the impressive facilities of the Meydan Racecourse. The Swiss Watch brand is also honored to have lent its name to the Longines Dubai Sheema Classic, one of the biggest turf races in the world, which was won by Jack Hobbs ridden by William Buick.
The winning owner, trainer and jockey received Longines watches from the hands of Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice President and Head of International Marketing of Longines to mark their victory. The winning team of Arrogate, the winner of the Dubai World Cup and 2016 Longines World’s Best Racehorse, was also honoured with Longines watches.
In line with its famous slogan “Elegance is an Attitude”, Longines had the pleasure to honour Diana Ganeva as the Longines Most Elegant Lady of the racetrack. She was awarded Longines watch.
The Dubai World Cup, which gathered the world’s best jockeys and horses, offered the perfect opportunity to discover the Official Watch of the event, a new model of The Longines Equestrian Collection, a line inspired by Longines’ passion for equestrian sports. This timepiece repeats the lines of the rectangular buckle found on the show bridle of the only Swiss horse breed, the Franches-Montagnes.
