It is no secret that Almaza is one of the most iconic brands in Lebanon. Building on Lebanese pride and social responsibility has always been at the heart of its activations and its top priorities.
Our Lebanon today is filled with environmental issues and this is where Almaza, in collaboration with GGRIL, decided to tackle two basic severe problems; the wastage of green glass openly dumped in nature and the uprising garbage crisis.
Almaza has confronted the problem head on; used green Almaza bottles have been gathered and sent to Khalife Brothers in Sarafand, one of the last glass blowers in Lebanon, to be crushed and recycled into re-usable beer glasses. These glasses will be given to consumers as part of a nation-wide promotion.
Mayssam Badri, Marketing Manager at Almaza, explained, “As a national industry leader in tackling socioeconomic issues faced by the Lebanese, we undertook an unprecedented initiative that addresses two main challenges: deteriorating trash problems and glass artisanship. We are confident this project will help in overcoming some part of the environmental issues faced today and we call on all stakeholders in the beer-making sector, and outside it to join us in the battle.”
With this initiative, Almaza invites all other Lebanese brands that use glass to start with their own journey to protect their environment because in the end, Hayda Jawna, Hayda Nahna.
