Beirut, April 6, 2017 – Ali Kedami is Lebanese. He is 54-year-old, and is a renowned marathon runner and Ultra-endurance athlete. He has been in various marathons and ultra-marathons since 2005. His most recent challenge being a 520 km, 9-day ultra-marathon across the Australian Outback. He ranked 15th place in what can be described as a brilliant achievement. Ali never seizes to run. He ran the Beirut Marathon each year since 2005, the Marathon de Paris for three years in a row, since 2008, and as a member of the 4 Deserts Club. He also specializes in long trail running, 250 km-long races in four deserts on four different continents. Ali does not run for the fun of it, he always runs for a cause, for his daughter, and for SANAD. Last November he ran the 42k Beirut Marathon with Karim, a paraplegic boy in his wheelchair. Last year, he ran 48 hours non-stop for SANAD, and this year he decided to beat this record and run 72 hours non-stop for SANAD.
He will be the first runner in the MENA region to achieve this challenge. Ali is an athlete that is followed by fans around the world, by an organization team, a communication team, medias, doctors, athletes, and a lot of friends. Ali is also a man with a big heart, a beautiful daughter, and a lovely wife. Saria his daughter, his personal cause, will be running the last few miles with him to arrival.
This year, Ali will be running for all the people taking their last long journey. A self-imposed challenge that will take an impossible 72 hours, day and night, to bring awareness and engagement to the mission of SANAD, the sacred mission of SANAD…Dedicating his symbolic 72 hours across Lebanon to SANAD, the home hospice organization of Lebanon, in efforts to bring awareness and engagement to the mission of SANAD, to help them expand their operations and support more patients and families in the most precious times of their lives. During these 72 hours, He will run day and night, for 3 days, across the city, the mountain, the villages, and back, in an infinity shaped path. He will barely stop, barely sleep, running to infinity and back. It is an impossible, extreme, and difficult feat. A lot can happen to a runner on the road for three and a half days; his body shuts down, he has to sleep while on the run, and he goes through an out-of-body experience due to extreme pain, to name a few. We need your support and awareness to help him honor his challenge and his dedication.
