Global Trade Enabler Receives Highest Level of Accreditation for its Innovative IBTIKAR Programme
Abu
Dhabi–UAE, December 19 2019: Abu Dhabi Ports, the operator
of commercial and community ports in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and beyond, and
operator of the Middle East’s largest industrial zone, has been awarded a
Platinum Accreditation Certificate during the 33rd ideasUK
International Conference.
Celebrating the field of ideas management, the accreditation is awarded as part of the annual ideasUK Idea of the Year Competition, which recognises forward-thinking organisations that are driving innovation in the workplace.
Receiving Platinum Accreditation for the third year in a row, Abu Dhabi Ports’ IBTIKAR (Arabic for innovation) programme is an in-house suggestion programme that encourages customers, stakeholders, and employees, to share new ideas on how maritime operations can be improved.
Eiman Al Khalaqi, VP of Innovation & Growth at Abu Dhabi Ports, said: “We are proud to once more be the recipient of such a prestigious accreditation. It reflects our commitment to innovation and to continuously implementing new, forward-thinking ideas that improve our operations and produce impressive results. We are proud to say that our teams share this commitment, and upon this solid foundation, we are able to work together to provide a superior customer experience and solid, sustainable growth for the company.
“This award highlights not only our efforts in cultivating an environment that encourages our customers, stakeholders, and employees to share novel ideas toward enhancing our organisation’s value, but also serves as encouragement for other UAE organisations to follow suit.”
The IBTIKAR programme was first recognised by ideasUK with a Gold Accreditation Certificate in 2016, marking the first instance a ports company received the accolade. Since its inception in 2013, the programme has aided the organisation with streamlining its day-to-day operations and is credited with helping Abu Dhabi Ports reduce costs.
Promoting the global exchange of knowledge and collaboration across corporate boundaries and cultures, the theme of this year’s conference, “The Future Today,” is focused on cutting-edge innovations around science, theory, and practice.
For the last 30 years, ideasUK has championed the value of employee suggestion programmes, encouraging and supporting organisations who motivate their staff to share ideas that bring value to both the business and their respective customers.
