Beirut October 15, 2015: ABC, the Lebanese retail pioneer, has opened a new section especially for men within its department store at ABC Ashrafieh. This new division is designed by the leading retail and leisure design agency Kinnersley Kent Design and is characterized by a breathtaking décor that reflects a spirit of elegance within a modern framework. It also provides men with an exclusive shopping experience and a wide array of services. The department allows male shoppers to meet all their needs in one place, marked with the most celebrated international brands.
ABC wanted the opening ceremony to serve as a demonstration of art, fashion and creativity. Known for its innovative approach to retail, ABC created an overall sensorial experience for its new men’s department by working with the Lebanese non-profit organizationHouse of Today and KA Modern and Contemporary
Art Space. The opening event was attended by media personnel and prominent figures in art and fashion, along with the tenants’ representatives.
The new division hosted an exhibition of rare art pieces for a number of Lebanese artists which were collected by Abraham Karabajakian, co- founder of KA Modern and Contemporary Art Space, as well as curated by architect Karim Bekdache. The exhibition entitled “Men love women artists” will remain for five days inside the new men’s department in order for it to be accessible to ABC Ashrafieh’s visitors and art enthusiasts. This initiative stems from ABC’s strategy which prioritizes arts and culture as it continuously strives to support creative projects in order to advance the most beautiful in Lebanese art thus elevating society and contributing to its development.
ABC also collaborated with House of Today the non-profit organization platformfor Lebanese Design,to curate a selection of contemporary design pieces for the special celebration of the new men’s destination opening at its department store in Ashrafieh. The result is an intriguing collection of products that will be on sale for a limited period only, designed for the modern man by 11 talented Lebanese designers and/or studios, which includes Karim Chaya, Rami Dalle, david/nicolas, Nada Debs, Celine Stephan Eid, Johnny Farah, Rabih Kayrouz, Cyrille Najjar, Rouba Mourtada, Alia Mouzannar and Dori Mouzannar. A collaboration of this kind allows both established and emerging design talents to explore new grounds, working with exceptional materials under the curation of House of Today.
The new men’s department holds a large and diverse selection of luxurious brands that meet the tastes of the sophisticated and modern man. These go along with a wide array of services such as shoe shining, hairdressing, tailoring, and a special space for reading and other recreational activities thus making it a popular destination for an exceptional shopping and leisurely experience.
