Abu Dhabi, UAE – 27 March 2021: Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s premier leisure and entertainment hub, put on a multi-colored light show to celebrate the start of the Holi festival of colors, which begins on Sunday 28th March and ends on Monday 29th March this year.
Celebrated worldwide and popularized with the throwing of colored powder, Holi is a Hindu festival of colors that dates back to the 4th century, marking the beginning of spring and representing the triumph of good over evil. Holi is usually celebrated in March according to the Hindu lunar calendar.
In celebration of the joyous festival, attractions across Yas Island lit up with a vivid display including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi, CLYMB Abu Dhabi, Yas Plaza Hotels, as well as Etihad Arena and W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island, in various colors of red and pink, symbolizing love and fertility, yellow, symbolizing the color of turmeric known for its healing properties, blue, representing the Hindu gods Krishna and Vishnu and green symbolizing new beginnings.
