DUBAI, UAE, 10 March 2021: FOX Family Movies is treating families across the Middle East to double doses of their favorite Hollywood animation movies with the launch of ‘Double the Fun Weekends’.
Double the Fun Weekends will air every Friday and Saturday in March at 6pm UAE time/5pm KSA time – ideally timed for kids to enjoy with their families after school – on FOX Family Movies on eLife ( Channel 627 ) and du ( Channel 137 ) in the UAE and Jawwy in Saudi Arabia.
The Fox Family Movies ‘Double the Fun Weekends’ line up is as follows:
- March 12– ‘Shrek’ – A mean lord exiles fairytale creatures to the swamp of a grumpy ogre, who must go on a quest and rescue a princess for the lord in order to get his land back. Starring Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz.
- March 13– ‘Shrek 2’ – Shrek and Fiona travel to the Kingdom of Far Far Away, where Fiona’s parents are King and Queen, to celebrate their marriage. When they arrive, they find they are not as welcome as they thought they would be. Starring Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas and Cameron Diaz.
- March 19– ‘Despicable Me’ – When a criminal mastermind, Gru, uses a trio of orphan girls as pawns for a grand scheme, he finds their love is profoundly changing him for the better. Starring Steve Carrell, Jason Segel and Russell Brand.
- March 20– ‘Despicable Me 2’ – When a new criminal comes to town, the Anti-Villain League decides to hire Gru in order to fight him off. While Gru initially refuses, he eventually agrees after his aide goes back to his evil ways. Starring Steve Carrell, Kristen Wiig, Steve Coogan, Russell Brand and Benjamin Bratt.
- March 26– ‘Balto’ – An outcast Husky risks his life with other sled dogs to prevent a deadly epidemic from ravaging Nome, Alaska. Starring Kevin Bacon, Bob Hoskins, Bridget Fond and Phil Collins.
- March 27– ‘Balto 2: Wolf Quest’ – Balto and his daughter Aleu embark on a journey of adventure and self-discovery. Starring David Carradine, Mark Hamill and Lacy Chabert.
