The Suliman S. Olayan School of Business (OSB) at the American University of Beirut (AUB) announced its successful reaccreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, following a rigorous peer-review visit conducted in November 2024. This achievement retains OSB’s position among the world’s top 6 percent of business schools that have earned this prestigious recognition.
The reaccreditation signals the school’s steadfast commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and community impact, and underscores its remarkable resilience and fortitude amidst Lebanon’s ongoing economic crisis, which began in 2019, and the regional challenges, including the war in the past year. Through these turbulent times, OSB has maintained its focus on shaping forward-thinking business leaders, staying true to AUB’s long-standing tradition of educational excellence and service to the region.
“Securing reaccreditation amid these tumultuous times reaffirms our unwavering commitment to transforming business thinking in the MENA region,” said Dr. Yusuf Sidani, dean of the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business. “It’s a testament to our faculty, staff, and students’ resilience, and we remain steadfast in delivering world-class education, impactful research, and ethical leadership development—even in the face of adversity.”
This accreditation extends to the business programs offered at the Faculty of Business at AUB’s branch campus, AUB Mediterraneo, in Pafos, Cyprus, ensuring that students at both locations receive the same globally recognized, high-quality education that meets AACSB’s rigorous standards.

About the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business (OSB) at AUB
The history of business education at AUB dates back to 1900, initially offered under the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. In 2000, AUB marked the hundred-year anniversary of its business programs by establishing an independent school of business—later named the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business (OSB) in 2003 to honor the late international Saudi businessman and AUB trustee, whose family has been a major supporter of the University.
Over the past two decades, OSB has evolved substantially, growing its full-time faculty from 13 in 2000–01 to more than 50 today, and graduating approximately 350 undergraduates and 80 graduate students annually. OSB currently offers seven degree programs, including BBA, MBA, Online MBA, EMBA, MFIN, MSBA, and MHRM.
