As part of its support for art in all its forms, Banque BEMO is organizing, in partnership with Commercial Insurance and the Audi Foundation, an exhibition entitled “The Wounded Art” L’Art Blessé, which will be held from December 16 to January 16, every day, from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with the exception of December 25, January 1 and 6.
“The Wounded Art” is a new artistic expression that draws inspiration from both Kintsugi and trauma therapy. Because the explosion of August 4 in the port of Beirut left us with gaping wounds: the loss of loved ones, physical injuries, often psychological trauma and countless material destruction.
Art in Lebanon was not to be outdone, with artists injured or in shock, as well as damaged works and workshops.
The Wounded Art exhibition project consists of presenting three types of works: some inspired by the disaster; others damaged, unrestored but subject to enhanced relief; and those, finally, transformed by an artistic touch. We believe in the power of Art to inspire, through a scenography by Jean-Louis Mainguy, who is also the curator of the exhibition.
In tribute to the victims of the devastating explosion, we
hope that this artistic manifestation will help guide each of us on the path of
reconstruction and rebirth, so that we never forget and that we never
give up.
