Terres Millésimées, wine cellar in Saint Emilion, is the story of a friendship around wine between the Johnny R. Saadé family and the famous French consultant Stephane Derenoncourt.
Opened in 2011 then listed by the Gault & Millau guide 2012 edition among the top 50 wine cellars in France, Terres Millésimées offers a wide selection of more than 600 wine references from Saint-Emilion and other Bordeaux regions, as well as international references.
On Tuesday July 29th 2014, Terres Millésimées in collaboration with one of the companies affiliated to Johnny R. Saade Holdings organized at Le Petit Gris restaurant in Beirut the presentation and tasting of 4 wines newly imported to Lebanon among which Domaine de l’A (Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux), Château Louis (Saint-Emilion Grand Cru), Canon Pécresse (Canon Fronsac) and Kavaklidere (Turkey).
The panel of guests made of experts and amateurs of Grands crus appreciated the distinctive particularities of each wines coming from different terroirs. These four domains impressed by their excellence and freshness having as common dominator the consultancy of Stephane Derenoncourt, who attended the event in person and commented each wine estate’s story and vision.
“I do believe that the most efficient approach is to develop a deep knowledge of the soil, which has a direct impact on the character of the wine to be produced. Therefore, the nature of the bedrock and the clays are decisive within the process. Ultimately, the nature of the soil is the key factor that influences the wine to be produced which also has to be in harmony with its own terroir” confirmed Stephane Derenoncourt.
