The Collaborative Spaces Challenge will go live on January 15thwith the projects that will start their crowdfunding campaign, giving new or established collaborative spaces the opportunity to receive up to $60,000 in matched funding.
Spaces from six qualifying countries (Sudan, Egypt, Morocco, Tunis, Algeria, and Iraq) will have until February 27th to secure funding for their projects, with Mideast Creativesoffering matched funding of $10,000 per country.
The projects which are participating range from new spaces looking to establish their presence, to existing collaborative spaces seeking funding to expand their available space, to buy 3D printers, CNC milling machines, tables, desks, or other equipment.
Zoomaal and Mideast Creatives have partnered up to launch MENA Spaces. The purpose of this initiative is to enable the establishment and support of collaborative spaces in the Arab World.
