CMA CGM, a world leader in maritime transport, invited high school students to immerse themselves in the world of shipping to help them discover an activity which forms an integral part of their History and Geography curriculum. Through this action, CMA CGM aims at making students benefit from the presence of a world leader in maritime transport in Lebanon and sharing with them its unique experience.
Therefore, this Tuesday April 12, CMA CGM hosted its first class, i.e. 33 eleventh graders from the Grand Lycée Franco-Libanais in Beirut. At the Lebanese head office of CMA CGM in Beirut, they had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the challenges inherent to the maritime transport thanks to quality exchanges with the Group’s best experts in Lebanon, to listen to a detailed presentation on CMA CGM and benefit from an exceptional visit of CMA CGM IVANHOE, a 350-meter long ship with a capacity of up to 10,000 containers, at the port.
CMA CGM is the number one company for exports and number three for imports in Lebanon where the Group employs more than 200 persons. Today, 4 services of CMA CGM call every week in Beirut, to say nothing of the regional feeder services, a fact which places Lebanon at the heart of global exchanges. Lebanon is linked directly to the North of Europe, to the Mediterranean basin, to Asia, the Black Sea, the Red Sea and the Persian Golf, thus offering many import and export opportunities to local companies.
