Byblos Bank Headquarters, Tuesday, 18 October 2016: Byblos Bank, keeping pace with the latest trends in the financial industry, participated in one of this year’s SWIFT auditorium sessions at the Sibos conference and exhibition, held in Geneva under the title “Bridging the knowledge gap”. Sibos provides a unique space for leaders and decision makers in the financial and technological sectors to network and collaborate on a range of topics, as well as to discuss and explore innovative tools related to banking payments, securities, cash management, trade and financial crime compliance.
“Our proactive participation in the pilot phase of SWIFTSmart, SWIFT’s newly established eLearning tool to increase staff productivity and reduce operational risks and costs among other benefits, has allowed us today to contribute in showcasing its real business value before industry leaders from around the world,” said Paul Chammas, Head of Group Operations Division at Byblos Bank. He added: “Our participation at Sibos falls within our bank’s strategy to explore and make use of the latest technological and digital tools in the market, as well as to cultivate and sustain ties with key stakeholders from across the global financial system.”
Dana Brants, Head of Services at SWIFT, said: “Byblos Bank’s presence today in the promotional phase of SWIFTSmart represents the important role the Bank played during the pilot phase. Together with 10 other institutions from around the world, they provided valuable insights, informed comments and suggestions. The positive synergy between Byblos Bank and SWIFT has allowed us to shape the SWIFTSmart solution to fit the needs of our community”.
Cooperating with SWIFT, Byblos Bank marks another milestone on the path of consolidating and upgrading its technological banking tools, while also sustaining the quality of its services in an increasingly complex regulatory climate.
