For immediate release – Beirut, April 5, 2018. Banque Libano-Française (BLF) received the “Most Inclusive Program” award for its financial solution within the refugees aid program, at the second edition of the Mastercard MENA Leadership Forum, which took place in Paris, from 4 – 7 March, 2018.
Held under the theme “Partnering for Success, Future-Proofing Growth,” the Forum gathered executives from leading MENA banks to discuss the latest developments in the payments industry.
Mrs. Myrna Wehbe, Director of Cards Services at Banque Libano-Française received the prize and thanked the organizers stating: “In line with our involvement in CSR initiatives within the marketplace, this program allowed us to achieve the financial inclusion of more than a million individuals using a digital and secure way, and to increase the banking literacy in rural and peripheral areas of Lebanon”.
Back in 2014, BLF and Mastercard had created a pioneering electronic solution to drive financial inclusion and help hundreds of thousands of refugees to fight hunger. This partnership helped boost the local economy and made a social impact on the community while fostering sustainable development. This innovation has received several international awards.
