The American University of Beirut (AUB) announced the return of its ABLE Summit, an international, action-driven gathering advancing digital inclusion and accessibility for persons with disabilities that will be held from September 21–24. Guided by this year’s theme, “From Awareness to Action,” the summit shifts the conversation from intention to implementation—equipping institutions, companies, and policymakers with the tools needed to build inclusive systems that work in practice.
ABLE (Accessibility for a Bolder Learning Experience) was founded to turn accessibility from intention into measurable impact, across education, employment, technology, and governance.
The four-day program begins with two pre-conference workshop days dedicated to deep, technical engagement in e-accessibility, followed by two full conference days featuring keynotes, expert talks, panels, and an interactive exhibition space. The summit will convene educators, technologists, policymakers, employers, designers, developers, disability advocates, NGOs, and innovators to exchange expertise and activate collaboration across sectors.
The 2026 program is structured around five integrated tracks that reflect the ecosystem required for real change. The E-Accessibility track focuses on practical digital implementation, standards, and inclusive design across platforms and systems. The Student Success track examines inclusive education pathways, campus accessibility, and support systems that enable learners with disabilities to thrive. The Independent Living and Employability track addresses workforce readiness, inclusive hiring, assistive technologies, and economic participation. The Governance and Sustainability track explores policy frameworks, institutional accountability, and long-term systems change. Finally, the CreateAbility track highlights innovation, creativity, and inclusive design solutions that center lived experience while advancing scalable impact.
